steering bearings seal

Thanks in advance,

I'm ready to install my new tapered steering head bearings and I'm a little unsure about the orientation of the rubber seal that comes with them (desmo times all-balls kit).

I seem to remember a blurb on this forum about this. There is a "flat" side and a "lip" side. If I remember correctly, we wanted the flat side against the inner race, so the lip would not catch and tear letting the elements in.

Does that sound right ???

I tried to do a search but I can't find that thread
