Clutch hub reassembly question

I'm replacing my clutch with one from a later 1098. My clutch hub has a small split pin that sticks up into the bush and keeps it from rotating. Then the nut with the funny ridged lock washer goes on and the hub gets torqued in place.

The 1098 doesn't have this split pin. I'm not sure where to go with this, since that split pin isn't a part number - it's a part of the hub. I haven't been able to pull it, and it's down where it's hard to measure it, so I'm not sure yet what it'll take to replace it. Can anyone tell me anything about this - do I really need it, and if so, what size is it?

The parts breakdown does show a pin, I don't recall that pin.
The part # is 74224.0570 Pin.

Well, so much for me <lol>...
Now that I've seen it in YOUR parts diagram, I suddenly see it in MY parts diagram. Guess it's another call to my local shop - they've got some gas tank stuff on B/O, so I guess they can just tack this onto the order. Thanks!
