Tail Bag - Rear - 8 Litre - Ducati ST3
Has anyone tried fitting this tail bag on a ST3, looking for a nice day bag nothing too big, thought of getting the Motopouch set as well
Any thoughts?

What can you possibly need in a day that won't fit in the saddlebags?

I personally would prefer to use a tailbag/top case (dp) if I could find one. The saddle bags are somewhat odd shaped that I could not fit my laptop. Also, I find it a bit harder to split lanes here in CA with the side bags.

Not everybody has the bags and antlers fitted all the time.
Personally I've never fitted mine, preferring throwovers and or a tail bag.

Like Mark said [almost]
I've left the antlers on but covered them with Oxford soft bags - I have a bit of carrying capacity but they're not giganto like the hard panniers, and they hide the antlers. All depends on what you're trying to do - if I carry a PC it's in my backpack.

Interesting...it never really occurred to me to not use them. I mean it protects the bike and rider legs in the case of a crash and is a great place to stash the helmet and jacket so you're not dorking them around with you at your destination, and they are the perfect place for your brews.
Just curious why would you take them off? Just for the look?

For me, it's as I said, I've never ever put them on. The antlers and bags came with the bike when I bought it but were not fixed. The previous owner had used them twice.
Personally I don't like the look of the antlers, and I don't like the pipes in the lower position, and when I go away I prefer the look of my bike with the throwovers on and the pipes in the higher position.
The way I ride the bike I would also be worried about grounding out my Staineys if I had them in the lower position. I grounded out the link part on the first day I owned it, and then set to work on raising the ride height straight away.
We are all different, and that is purely my preference.

I'm the same as Mark. I don't really like the look of the antlers and bags. I have gone with minimalist, anything that is not essential has been junked.
I just put them on for 5000km plus trips. The rest of the time I use a ventura rack and bag when I need some space.
Here is a pic of mine 03 with bags on and my mate's 04 with stainies and Ventura rack and bag. Phillip Island 2009.
