Manual ST4S
I am sure this topic has been talked about before. What is a good manual to purchases for my bike. I already have LT Synder 3rd Edition but I like to get one that is strictly for my bike. One that completely shows how to break down my bike.
I am new at this so I need your basic manual 101 how to work on it. I like to be able to do most of the work here myself. So far with the forum here, it has been a lot of help.

You and I have the same bike, so I can tell you what has worked for me. Four sources of information have proven valuable:
LT's manual, which you already have.
Second, the OEM service manual. I didn't buy the $200 2003 ST4s manual, but purchased the copy of the 2004 ST4s manual that is available from this guy: Ducati ST4 ST4S ABS Part# 91470501E Service shop Manual Book | Brooklyn | eBay Classifieds (Kijiji) | 7336048 Most of the engine and running gear stuff is the same, but the instrumentation is entirely different. Still, quite useful at a modest price.
Third, I have found that the Haynes manual for the 996 (Ducati 748, 916 & 996 4-valve V-twins, '94-'01) is very helpful for many things, and in his earlier 4V edition (don't have the newest one), he referred to the Haynes for specific solutions.
Fourth, and often the best, are the files in the Hall of Wisdom, the ST2 owners files section (yahoo group), Ducati-wiki, and elsewhere on the web.

There is a ebay seller, devoym, who sometimes who has the factory shop manuals on cd-rom. I bought one for a 2000 ST4 for about $15 delivered. Its all in there - engine rebuild, valve settings, electrical, etc, etc.. If you dont have to have a hard copy and can print the pages you need it works pretty well.

When I bought my 2002 ST4s it came with the factory workshop manual, and I have to admit i use it often, they come in the nice 3-ring binder, very good detail!
Not sure what they cost, you may want to check?

They won't fit on an email.
Float 'em up on Free large file exchange service without size limits and post a link.
