One more time because I am challenged... (pic) Help

Differences in slip on exhausts from ST 2 vs. ST4?

For example if the system pictured is for an ST2 should it absolutely not be used on an ST4?

Pros / Cons … I would assume a trip to the dyno would be needed is that correct?

The difference between the ST2 and ST4 cans is the inlet flange size at the mid pipe where it slips on to the header. ST4 and ST4s have a 45MM inlet. The ST2 and the ST3 have a 40MM flange. Some have suggested ST2 pipes can be made to fit an ST4 if you bring the pipes to an exhaust specialist and have them enlarge the flange. It depends on the pipe design though. Some pipes have the heat shield running all the way to the flange (just like the OEM pipes), others like my Sil Motors, have the heat shield stop before the flange leaving a single wall at the flange. A set of ST2 pipes with the double wall flange would be harder to do than single wall flange pipes. As far as the mid pipes and actual exhaust cans, I do not believe there is any difference.

There is some thought that they were same between models for certain years and countries. We don't have the specifics about that, but . . . the easiest thing to do, since the cans come off in about 10sec, is to send a pic of the measurement of your inlet pipe to the seller and ask for confirmation.

Have a good one.

Are the cans in the pic something you're looking at to buy, or is it just a pic you found to post as an example. I only bring it up as I just looked at it and I can tell you I would keep looking. For one, they are not Arrow branded cans. I have never seen a set of Arrows look even remotely like that for ST or any model Ducati. They also look to have been opened up and then poorly put back together. Look at the big rivets at the mid pipe caps... Not trying to get into your business, but unless those are really inexpensive (like $50 or less) you could do a lot better if you kept looking for the right pipes... They do come up from time to time.
