Thanks for the memories......
Well fellas I wanted to tell everyone thanks for the help over the past few years with questions, advice etc...and members even donating parts but the time has come and the ST4 is off to a virgin Ducati garage. I'll still be around it's too much fun in here. Now its time to figure out what the next ride is going to be, let the games begin...........

Menace,
I sold my 03 ST4s in the Spring. Really liked the bike, but still couldn't get comfortable for long rides. I just bought an 08 Multistrada 1100S. So far I really, really like it. Has the same Ohlins suspension as the ST4S, but with a lot more travel. And, of course, it's much more comfortable.
It's kinda strange looking, but the more I stare at it, the more I like it.
In curves up to about 60 mph, it feels much better than the ST4S. From 60-80, it feels about the same. Beyond that, the ST felt more stable.

Good luck,
ape

M-M,
I'm sorry to hear that. Please do stick around the clubhouse.
What are you targeting? The only bikes that give me any sort of tingle is the Motus, Ninja 1000, and just about any SM, esp the KTM SMR. Of course, the Motus and Ninja are a bit young to know how they will work for this crowd. =P
Have a good one.

I've enjoyed your frequent posts on this forum. Good luck in finding the next bike. I'm with Tonered - a 990 SMT would be MY choice right now, once the model with ABS reaches these shores.
safe riding,
Dave

Dave,
I'd agree if those side cases were significantly larger.
Have a good one.

Well right now I am kind of all over the board to be honest. If I have my druthers I guess most likely a adventure class motorcycle or at least something with a more upright riding position. I love the ST4 but my shoulder didn't so much. I think some if it also has to do with having so many miles on my work bike in that more upright position so it feels more natural/comfortable to me. I'm in hunting mode right now so we will see what happens. My short list (if you can call it that) is diverse and most likely might just depend on what kind of deal I can swing on any of them......
Yamaha Super Tenere
BMW GS 1200
Triumph Tiger 800xc
Triumph Tiger 1050
BMW GS 800
DRZ 400
Hypermotard
KTM SuperDuke
Triumph Speed Triple
Possibly a Monster even.....who the hell knows.......

It's interesting that you don't have Multi in your short list, considering the others in your list. Any reason for leaving out a Multi?
