1999 ST front / rear teeth?
Whats stock? For the front and rear?
Any real value in going to a 520 conversion?
Whats the suggested count from front / rear on a 1999 ST4 (NOT ST4S)
Thanks as always for all the great info I have been getting here!

The page wont download on my puter correctly.
Stock is 15/43? I would like some more low end so the question is do you drop to 14 in the front or go up to 44 in the back or both or some other combo?
Thanks

I have an ST2, so I can't say for sure. I have experimented on mine and I ended up going up 1 on the rear. That gave me a little more on the low end without sacrificing highway riding.
I would try a 44 and cut a new chain to fit. I have a 45 tooth with only a couple hundred miles on it if you want to try it.

Copied from the sticky at the top of this page: Sticky: Newbies, please read: Ducati Sport Touring Models
sprocket info
This was initially posted by someone else on another thread. I am reposting it here to try to keep this info in one convenient spot. I did not know there was an MY 01-ST4s, but that could be its release year in Europe.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++
Here's the info from Ducati's site regarding gearing. The first number is
the front sprocket size, the second number is the rear sprocket size.
Unfortunately, Ducati's site only goes back to 2001:
2001 ST2 - 15/42
2001 ST4 - 15/43
2001 ST4s - 15/40
2002 ST2 - 15/42
2002 ST4 - 15/43
2002 ST4s - 15/38
2003 ST2 - 15/42
2003 ST4 - 15/43
2003 ST4s (& ABS) - 15/38
2004 ST3 - 15/42
2004 ST4s (& ABS) - 15/38
2005 ST3 - 15/42
2005 ST4s (& ABS) - 15/38
2006 ST3 (& ABS) - 15/42
2007 ST3 (& ABS) - 15/42

It must be snowing in VA, 'cause she looks kind cold.

Have a good one.

Yes stock is 15/43.
14 on the front is a fantastic arrangement - it will give you what you want. It really makes a huge difference, and it is relatively cheap and easy to do.
Going up on the back will achieve the same result, but means more expense buying a larger sprocket, and you will also probably need to buy a longer chain too.
Try a 14, you won't be disappointed, and if you are you can just send it to me and I can experience the undisappointedness for you....
