no it's not over.
If anything, it simply reinforces the fact that anyone riding a motorcycle now, or in the past, and in the future prefers to experience life first-hand rather than hear/read/watch about it.

Seems to me like the author of this piece has some strong feelings against Apple deep inside of him. I like Apple and motorcycles, and I'm young. If Apple made a motorcycle specific GPS it would be the tits!

I use my MacBook and iPad to read about Ducatis, but I never think about computers or gizmos while on my Ducatis. This will never change. I am 41.

'zactly. Maybe the era of metrosexual posers buying motorcycles is waning, but for studly riders...it goes on.

If Apple made a motorcycle, it would be the tits, but you'd have to buy gas for it online.....

Ha! I didn't like Apple's stuff in the 80s and I don't like it now. I'll also take the alternate view that riding, like every other American subculture is a fad. It will come back around in cyles (ha!).

Yes, we are a subculture here until the next major petroleum spike hits. Then, maybe two wheeled transport may become a bit more mainstream.

Of course, I'm posting this from a Blackberry. So, it may all be totally irrelevant. =P

Have a good one.

It's not over, although it has slowed considerably. High gasoline prices drove people in Texas to get their M-endorsement (BRC completion is required now to get your endorsement). Once the recession/double-dip recession hit, and people began losing their jobs, sales went down. Locally, mostly government employees (local/state/federal) are the folks that can afford a bike payment. Savings in fuel economy and insurance don't justify the purchase of a bike; but the age of the motorcyclist, and getting in the wind, are far from over. . . and the ST3 is just the way to do that!
