idle rpm's, a bit of surging
my idle rpm's seem to surge a bit on occasion. Today I seemed to notice it more
at each stop. I suppose it's time to check the sync again?

Yeah, and the TPS while you're at it. That's what I would start with.

Check for air leaks.
My intake manifolds cracked (fixed a few times with RTV), replaced them last month.

I was wondering if someone had had that happen because it sort of acts like it
heats up before it starts it's surging. Like an air leak. I'll take the air box off an take a look see maybe this week.
Between air leaks, tps and syncing I think it will be found.

The air leak would be between the throttle plate and the head, just spay some wd40 in that area. If you've had any backfires[popping] check the sync tubes, I have had the caps pop off there at one point.

so one day this past week I cranked it up in the shop and shot ether around the intakes and what not. No leaks there. I turned the trim screw back a tad in the ecu and today it idled just fine on about a 50 mile ride around.

Another thing worth checking is the clearnace on your RPM sensor.
Mine was doing this, most noticeable at city traffic, speeds, 50kph or so, and it turned out that the clearance for the RPM sensor was way out.
Work a lok.

thanks for the tip. Mines been running great, oh heck I shouldn't have said that,
but anyway it's been doing fine for over 1000 miles since I reset the trim.

Yes, your right, I thought I'd learned a long time ago to never brag on
a motor vehicle of any sort. I've had a relapse. I'll be paying big time I suspect.
