Sprung a leak…

After I changed the oil I now have two leaks. I torqued the drain plug to 31 foot pounds. I tightened the filter as much as I could. I now have a leak from both spots. New crush washer in the plug too.
Suggestions?

Might be just from the filter, a little tip is to oil the seal of the filter with some new oil. I also give it a little nip with a strap wrench as normally my hands are oily!!

Did the old gasket from the filter come off, or is it still in there? I have seen it happen!

I have also seen the gasket not seated properly on the filter, you might put the bike on the side stand and remove the filter to check it?

You tightened the filter as hard as you could? normally I just go hand tight on oil filters. With the ST2 I use the Fram filters with the hex head - since I can't really get my hand on the filter I go hand tight at the bottom, then an extra 1/4 turn with the wrench. I found through trial/error that you need to take a paper towel and wipe dry up inside the engine block, where the filter gasket goes against. You just need to smear little bit of oil around the gasket. You may have buggered the gasket up by over-tightening, if the steps above don't work take the old filter gasket and use that.
Not sure what to tell you if the oil plug is leaking too, 31 ft lbs is the correct torque - only thing I can suggest there is a new crush washer.
