Anyone have numbers off a DP ECU for ST3s?

Hello all,

While my bike is sitting completely torn apart for crank replacement, I have nothing better to do than read Ducati.ms AND look for the elusive ST3s Ducati performance upgrade. Read my other post to understand why I am broke and trying to get deals where I can.

I am waiting for the open airbox trim and filter, have a potential source for the termi cans, and that brings us to the ECU.

I found and bought an ECU from eBay that was used and came in a box with the right part number (96517606B) but the ECU only has 3 stickers:

1) A permanent looking sticker with barcode and a variety of numbers.
2) A semi-permanent sticker over the left side of sticker #1 with SB32LDPY on it
3) A semi-permanent sticker on the other side of the ECU with ST3DUCATI050 on it.

Does anyone know what the stickers should read from a real 96517606B part?

Thanks!
Eric

Vdst

Hi Eric,

I don't know what should be on the stickers of that ECU, but I suppose you only want to confirm that the ECU you got is the one you've paid for. I think it is best to connect a VDST or Mathesis diagnostics system to your bike with the new ECU in it. My VDST system shows the code for the stock ECU at the bottom of the screen. In your case it should show the DP ECU code (96517606B as you said).

Perhaps there's someone in your area who can help you with his/her VDST diagnostics system, or your nearest Ducati dealer with a Mathesis system.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Mark

Good idea Mark about hooking up to the VDST to confirm the ECU part number.

Regarding ST3S upgrades, the DP ECU and getting rid of the cat converter silencers sure woke up my ST3s. Also, don't forget about the suspension, as a professional rebuild really completed the package for me.

What happened with the crank??

BTW - my DP ECU was a re-flash that I sourced through what was the Desmo Porche in Houston. Silencers are SilMoto titanium.
