Help - Brought home on a truck! :-(
Hi Guys,
I've just got home, via the AA (AAA for my trans atlantic chums).
The bike was on trickle charge before I went out.
It was reluctant to start but did eventually so went out.
Left the bike for 10 mins after a 10 min ride, when I came back to the bike it wouldn't start.
Suspecting an old/tired battery, I was lucky to catch an AA partrolman who happened to be taking a break in teh car park.
No matter what we tried it wouldnt start up, it almost did but didn't catch. Suspecting flooding, we pulled out the FP fuse and cranked it over to dry it out, and it did fire and run! I then stupidly caught the side stand and the bike stalled. :-(
It then wouldn't fire up, whatever we did, checked the spark, all good, cleaned the plugs as they seemed a bit sooty. We even sprayed Ethanol into the inlets but no, it wouldn't fire.
So, we came to the conclusion that the timing was out, as strong spark and ethanol means it would at least run on that.
So, does that mean the CAS is knackered?
Any ideas advise most welcome.
Ta chaps
Tim
