sound system

hey i was just wondering if anyone else has tried to put a sound system on your duc. i have a 2000 900 sport and i got the amp in the storage box under the seat, and i have 2 6 inch speakers, but i wanted to know if anyone found a good spot to mount, or like a website that has custom fabricated boxes/mounts to put them on. any input would be great, thx.

that post makes me cringe !!!

i know i'm being smartbutted but a witty reply mentioning a goldwing or a glide seems appropriate, ... 6 inch speakers ??? ,.. really ?

* how about an ipod and earbuds ?

Yes the idea does seem a trifle avant garde.

Playboy925, you refer to your bike as a '900 Sport', but looking at your other posts I've discovered that it is in fact an ST2. This is rather misleading.
It might be worth you bearing in mind that it is a Sport Touring motorcycle, and also that it is 944cc and not 900.

It would be easier all round if you refer to it as an ST2, and then everybody will know what you are talking about.
Better still, put '2000 ST2' in your sig via the 'Edit Signature' option in the Quick Links drop-down menu at the top right of the page - underneath where it says your forum name..

Welcome to the forum btw.

yea, i realized the classification for the bike after reading a couple of forums in here. i tried changing my signature lets check if it works on this one, i just got the bike maybe 2 months ago, and just posted what the sales guy put on the bill of sale, of coarse i knew he filled it out wrong because he put SS on there too, and im almost possitive its not, it says ST2 on the bottom of the gas tank, thanks for the welcome. and yea i know, 6 inch speakers kinda big, i had some rocksford fosgate 4 inch speakers made for motorcycle, but with that beatiful ducati sound i could not hear anything, i dont listen to it very much, but every once and a while i like havings some music while im riding, and having a duc in the first place, obviously i want to show off this work of art, and that grabs attention. lol. i dont know if you guys have ever seen south park it kinda reminds me of this
lol, but also its an area thing, i live in the bay area california, you dont really see a bike without some sort of sound system on it. its just northern cali culture, lol.

Perhaps you should post a picture of the bike just to be on the safe side, and we will be able to tell you which model it is ?

Good work on the sig btw. Top man.

Looks like you'll need to adjust your signature one more time. That ain't an ST2.

It's a 900 SS ie.
No the tanks are not the same, and as Jack says, it looks like you'll have to edit your sig again.

ok, now i feel dumb, lol. i got the year wrong too, its an 02, i have some other bikes too, and little sleep and 2 young kids, yea i know, excuses, lol. but it was a little confusing by the label for the specs, cuz it shows engine family 944 st2, so i guess its somewhat understandable how i got it confused.
