Winter Maintenance
Got my winter maintenance done early this year. Valves adjusted, thanks to EMS shim kit. Fresh oil and filter. Installed Desmo Times fan kit. CA Cycleworks belts adjusted (new last year). Fuel Filter changed.
Something I'm glad I noticed. The side stand bolts had loosened. Also found a few loose fasteners on the L/H outer case. Everything now ready to go for another season.
Still running Pilot Roads, and I have a new set in reserve.
I'm envious of my buddy. He's getting Race Tech improvements to front and rear of his ST1300.

Same on my '05 SS1000DS. Scary with all that bodywork.

Glad to hear you are already finished! I'm still working on my winter chores for the ST4s.
The thought of installing the Desmo Times fan kit is very interesting, let us know what you think of it! As with the hot California summers for me this may be a "must have" as my temp climbs way to fast in traffic on hot days.
I'm installing CA Cycleworks belts for the first time, always used the OEM stuff, re-using belts that are fresh has never been an issue for me (748 race bike) as long as they go back on the same direction.... New fuel filter is a must for me also when performing a major service...
Good thing you caught those side stand bolts, they have always scared me, thinking more of cracking the engine case or pulling threads than the bodywork......
Cheers
M

Almost completed with mine, just awaiting a few CF pieces to come back from the painters for clear coat. I should have them this week.
Work completed - belts
- valve adjust
- fuel lines
- filter fuel
- fuel pump
- balance throttle bodies
- air horn
- new set of Angels with dyna beads
Now all I need is some warmer weather. Time to start on the garden until then I suppose.

I'm starting to think that compared to most here that I am so far behind on my winter maintenance tasks that I won't be done until July.
Boxing up my forks right now for shipment down to Cogent Dynamics this afternoon.
Best

Same here. I had a bunch of "things" going on prior to Christmas. Then, after evicting the flying squirrel clan that invaded my attic, and then fixing their entry point, I mis-footed while retrieving the have-a-heart trap (empty!) for the last time. Messed up my rotator joint, and just found out that I need surgery. Keepin' my fingers crossed for our pre-Memorial Day venture...I sure hope the DUC + I are ready! F'n tree-rats!!!!!!!
Anybody wanna see them on vid., I have plenty from my game camera. I even got a vid. of the 1st one that "went the hard way" in a rat trap.

Stick, Off topic but I'll trade you my pics taken this morning whilst cleaning up the underside of my wife's Cooper S after running over a small member of the family Cervidae last night on the way home from our weekend place (where the ST2 resides...). It was the smell off the hot exhaust the was doing us in.

Maybe we can do it in the Chat area? I got some innocent pics, then videos of the one that bit the dust, and some other innocent vids. Not sure if I have them here on this PC (at work). The vids are huge...8MB
I can make the stills reasonable sized...
