Can an ST2 be bored & stroked?
Just wondering if an ST2 944 engine be bored & stroked?
If it can, what to?
Cheers
Craig

I knew you would be the first to respond.
I like my 2 valver, I just want to see if anyone has hot rodded their 944
I also wondered could you slip in a 1098 or 1198 engine into our ST frames, you probably can't, but wouldn't it be cool if you could!

Probably could do a 10/1198, might need to eliminate or change the croos tube above the engine, and change the swingarm. Most likely need to add extensions to the rear frame engine mount, to provide addional stability to the swingarm pivot pin. To narrow bearing area on the SBK engines, I imagine.

Hi Dan,
Why do you need to change the swing arm?

cause it bolts onto the motor
the chances of your swingarm bolting straight onto an 1198 is zero

Right then, back to my original question.

I have stock bore and stroke, but head mods and hi-comps, and have 90BHP at the rear wheel.
I also dumped 20kg in weight off the bike.

I think that Tom's upgrades are the best way to get more power out of an St2. The heads and valves are can't take advantage of bigger pistons/ more volume.
And I know what you mean about the 2V. I really like my ST2, no desire to have a 4/ 4s.
