Dick Lost (or Disc Locks)
So, last night I left training, stuffed my gear in the panniers, put on the gloves and helmet, warmed 'er up, waved to the audience and gently let the clutch out.
The u-lock jammed between the fork slider and the caliper (as it is supposed to) and off I went.
So my poll is: How many times do we do this before learning to remove the lock?

You need to get yourself a disk lock reminder...
http://www.motoleather.com/13-2093.html
I never use a disk lock without one! You lock one end on the disk lock, stretch it out and slip the other end over your throttle grip. It's then impossible to forget you haven't removed the disk lock!

I rolled forward once. Did not fall off, but still had that moment of what the heck was that? Now I put my key in the disk lock case, so I can't forget.

Yeah, I got a lock with that huge orange reminder. It makes it impossible to forget. Plus I dont have a key ignition, so the disc lock key is my only key.

I can't vote.. I've never done it but am not so arrogant to suggest it was either dumb or that I will NEVER do it..
When I got my first lock I was given the sage advice to use it on the rear disc, that way I wouldn't go base over apex. I tossed my boss the keys one day but forgot to remind him of the disc lock, didn;t think he'd actually try to ride it... Off he took and shattered the lock also elongated the hole it was through. I had to remove the disc and get it machined, easy job. Took me 2 years to replace that disc lock but when I did I got the leash Turbo linked, Now I use it on the front.
Friend of mine used a giant brass padlock as a disc lock, he had to replace both front discs and carriers after he went down.

I have a Xena lock. They have an audible alarm when moved.
You can't forget it.

Lock? I live in Vermont.
I usually leave the key IN the bike with the garage door open.

I use the Onguard disk lock on the front/right rotor with an orange plastic reminder that I attach to the throttle grip. Forgot it once, luckily I was in my shop, the bike was not running and was on the rear wheel stand. As I started to move the bike I heard something hit the front fender and rembered the lock. No damage and no embarrasment.

Oh God, here's my topic.
I did the ultimate move with a disc-lock. About ten years ago on my Honda Hawk/RC31, Saturday night, in a line of bikes backed up to the curb in front of a popular bar/restruant with plenty of outdoor seating. We all strutted out to the bikes, starting motors and donning gear with much machismo and fanfare, ladies watching (we hoped), we don our mighty steeds, I'm leading - for about 8 inches.
Hit the "end of the rope", as it were, and down I go to my left...into the bike next to me (a 900SS), down he goes to his left...into the bike next to him, and so on down the line.
Out of the eight bikes in our group, I managed to domino five of us.
I never went back to that bar again, and for the next couple of months I was very poor buying parts for five other bikes.
So, no I don't use disc locks.
