Your Favorite race track in California (or the west coast in general)

More than just a survey, i feel it would be helpful to get some feedback from people on different tracks as i haven't really been able to find a forum with that kind of information. I realize I'm excluding a lot of people (who don't live on the west coast), but i don't think it would be very helpful to have a survey on all tracks because most people only deal with those in their general area, so if someone else wants to start another thread on tracks in their area, go for it. I live in the bay area, and I'm partial to Thunderhill, its way fun.

-wasn't really sure how to create the actual poll (help?)...i'm pretty sure there are about 12 tracks in the area...

I've only been to Thunderhill, Buttonwillow, Sears Point, and Reno Fernley. I would rank them as Sears-Thunderhill-Reno Fernley-Buttonwillow. However, I am going to Laguna for the first time on the 9/11 so the ordering of my favorite track may change.

Add Oregon Raceway Park (ORP)

Need to add Oregon Raceway Park (ORP):
http://www.oregonraceway.com/

Haven't been on it yet, but heard it is good although difficult to figure out due to it being nearly featureless.

Tracks with lots of elevation changes and turns are my favorite. Sears Point absolutely hands down has got to be the best and my personal favorite, and T-hill following right behind. PIR is flatter than a pancake and has got a staight so long that gives you enough time to figure out what to make for dinner (on my slow bike anyway).

BTW, Infinion and Fernely are mispeled.

Its Sears Point Dammit! Just because she married some corporate big-wig doesn't mean she has to change her name or, the damn track layout! Whew, feel better now...

To qualify my experience with West Coast tracks (excluding those in AZ, 'cuz they all suck)...

I've raced at:

- Buttonwillow
- Willow Springs (big track)
- Las Vegas (old configuration)
- Laguna Seca
- Sears Point!

I've ridden on:

- Thunderhill
- Las Vegas (new configuration)

I've been to:

- California Speedway (Fontucky)
- Streets of Willow (you forgot that one)
- Miller Motorsports Park (forgot that one also!)
- Portland

And I've never visited:

- Reno-Fernley
- Spring Mountain (Pahrump)
- Spokane
- Seattle

--------------------------------

With that in mind, along with Abandon42S, I also love tracks with elevation changes and blind, tricky turns, and definitely LAGUNA SECA is my favorite of all the Western tracks I've been on. SEARS and THUNDERHILL are not far behind. You really can't go wrong with any of those three!

Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, and Vegas aren't bad, but I'm not in love with any of them.

Of the ones I've observed in person, Streets of Willow and Fontana look like they'd be okay to ride on, while Portland looks kind of boring.

Everyone I've talked to that's ridden Spring Mountain/Pahrump tells me it's quite nice, but the one that's supposed to trump them all is MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK in Salt Lake!

Nick Ienatsch told me Miller will ruin you for every other track in America, it's just that good! The facilities there are world class, and the track is supposed to be a complete hoot to ride on. Hopefully, I'll soon get my butt up there and give it a crack...

Miller is a really nice track and so is laguna. But the noise restrictions at laguna are a bit of a put off.
