Desmosedici Monster concept

Does anyone believe this concept would have been better in place of the SF?

I may compare opinions from both Monster and SBK sections.

Are you assuming that this concept bike could have been produced with a price point anywhere near the Streetfighter? I think that would be quite a stretch!

Neither!

In my humble opinion, Monsters are aircooled no-nonsens-basic-to-the-bone bikes. Hi-tech 200 bhp 10.000+ reving V4-engines, as well as latest evolusion Testastretta in radical wildstyle plastics are not.

+1

I don't think it could be produced at a reasonable price point.

I like that Ducati has made the current Monster line all air cooled and created a distinct seperate line for naked, liquid cooled, 4-valvers. This concept is a step backwards. If Ducati were to create a Desmosedicci derived naked bike, it should either mimic the Streetfighter or be a completely new design. It should NOT look like a Monster. IMHO

Ducati should produce this bike, they can call it whatever they like;
Naked Desmosedici, Fighter GP, RR Lite, Monsteroid, etc. It would be an amazing ride, the only issue for me would be the price tag. Lets face it, even if it was less expensive than the RR, it would still have to cost around 80-90%of the Desmosedici.

200 HP, 14,000 RPM racing engines and naked bikes do not work well together, even if it could be produced at a reasonable cost. Those superbike full fairings do more than just look pretty; they work well aerodynamically.

Yea right, that's what they were saying before Ducati put the 998 130 hp engine in the S4R.

If they build it, people will buy it
