Give your wife the book "Wild at Heart" by John Elderdge

This book is from a Christain perspective....and shows how as men we have this deep down adventure/warrior in us and this needs to be grown to allow you to be the man God created you to be. Garanteed to have a positive effect on the spouse or loved one.

That's funny staves.... I always tell her: "

"If you want to understand me, your Dad, your brother or our son ... THINK: CAVEMAN!"

My wife and I made a deal. When I bought my first street bike we got her a horse. Its all about compromise. So now she has a hobby/love affair with horses and riding. So on the weekends when I go out for an all day ride, she does the same. Actually this summer we are planning a 2 up ride to the KY horse park, trying to combine our hobbies.

Before we got married we discussed it and I explained that motorcycling is more than just a hobby to me. It's a huge part of who I am. I consider motorcycling to be as much a part of my identity as where I grew up or what I do for a living. She completely understands and accepts that there will always be a bike in our garage. In bad times, it might have to be an old beater and my sole transportation. But times have been mostly good and I'm lucky enough that she is the one who encouraged me to go buy the Ducati I've always wanted. We never really fight about motorcycling, although sometimes there are minor cases of having to do a little kissing up or tending to her neediness if I've spent more time than usual with my biking buddies. But overall, I think I've got it good.

A friend of mine is an avid long distance BMW-type guy. The woman he married was not a rider, in fact had never been on a motorcycle. She knew nothing about the culture. When she was about to marry him she was given some advice by a friend: "Never make him choose between his motorcycle and you. You will always lose." She never has and they have been happily married for over a decade. She rides with him cross country at least once a year.

I saw committed, and I thought it was for the looney bin.
I started to vote that way.

Well, lets just say that my current love rides bikes too.
In fact she met me BECAUSE I rode a Ducati.

Had I bought a japanese bike, we would have never met.
Had I never ridden, we would have never met.
But fate and Ducati's brought us together.

And I would never have it any other way.

Funny thing is, when I first got the bike, I went out with one woman, and on the third date she looked at my pics on the wall of my bike, and said you are wasting your money on motorcycles.

I told her to get the f%&$ out and never looked back.

My Duc has given me life, inspiration, and brought my passion for life and love.
It brought me a woman who loves me.
Now if it could only bring me parts and money, I would be living the DREAM!
