Dealers usually won't let you ride somebody else's bike sadly. The desmosedici is gonna be one of those bikes that only a few of the true players amongst us will ride/own. I don't even know anybody from the forums getting one. I think most of us lackys are more interested in things we can afford; 848 or even the 1098R for 1/2 the price of the desmosedici. Oh well, I'll always want a desmosedici, maybe some day when I'm 50 I'll get one! heh

Looks like you answered your own question. Hence the thread begins. My new age crystal set keep telling me there are already members waiting for their sedici's. I'm hoping that selling off all my old machine's plus my social security checks will cover the infant stage of operation!!

No dealer who has a presold 65k+ motorcycle is going to let you sit on it and/or start it. I'd venture to say the most owners arn't even going to start the thing up, let along turn a wheel in anger.

Got to lay my hands on a GP07 race bike at the Fort Worth Show last weekend. Just doing that gave me a buzz. I'm betting that we'll see the V-4 configuration in other, more affordable models.

yeah, "the buzz" - thats a good first sign you should get yourself one
- other brands will surely pop up - that means its all a good thing, for everyone - i would guess that ducati, given their history, will probably produce an 800 too
