PASO not ugly !

haven't been on here since heart failure and surgery forced the sale of my beloved supersport but now that I'm ready to go again I am doing my homework on the web for another duc .I see alot of folks bashing the PASO for being ugly and I don't get it. The first time I saw one when I was a young man I instantly fell in love with it and have looked for one that would fit my budget since. To me the bodywork is like art not just another frame cover. I just found one and will go look at it with a pocket full of cash this weekend and can hardly hold another thought in my head. Just wondering if I'm the only one who thinks that buying any Ducati with logic in mind is madness when most jap rigs out perform them in just about any measure. BTW I know about the mechanical shortcomings but they're all minor to me.

Paso's were the first Ducati's I saw in a dealer showroom that stopped me in my tracks and I couldn't get out of my mind.
I have a KLR for sale and if it does sell, while my first thought was a small dirtbike for woods riding around here, there's also a Paso for sale not far from me...look good, sounds good, price is right...

Aside from the solid windscreen, I thought the Paso was stunning (still do) back in the day. Kicked the tires a couple of times. Ergos didn't really suit me, so never bought.
Probably was a mistake. Unique piece of motorcycling history in my book. I love looking a Ducatis (except for the multi-strada/lol) because they are ALL works of fine art.

What is key to this conversation is that people who like the Paso saw them when they were first released, includes myself.

If you were to show the bike to someone who has been exposed to the styling of modern bikes then fair chance they will find them awkward.

For some reason the Paso has a weird charm to it. I'd love to have one, after I buy my favorites of course (916, 888, aprilia rs250, etc.)

I bought it and feel like I rescued an abused puppy. the motor runs well but everything needs some kind of attention. the previous owner was obviously not impressed with it and treated it accordingly. The most shocking part was the Automotive donut spare mounted on the rear ! I took it apart and have cleaned, inspected and refurbished much of it. Almost ready to begin reassembly as soon as I get the carb done.

First ducati I fell in love with was a 750 paso, even had the loan for it but it did not happen. I was able to put many miles on my friends bike even a trip from Quebec to NH. I would own one.

Funny thing about the paso. Me and my friend would be on a ride he on his paso I on my 851. People would trip over my bike to check out the paso, asking how fast it was etc. I still see images of the paso used as a generic motorcycle image, non motorcyclists seem to like the shape.

I am around the corner in moultonboro and do have some paso parts left if you need anything. lol no tires though.
