Help Inserting Image

Hi,

I have been trying to insert an image into a post I'm putting together for this forum. I read the site's instructions it says..

"How do I add an image to a post?

If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.

To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and ..."

So I uploaded the three images, got the manage attchmnts screen back. I see the three pics but I tried clicking one and it opened in a new screen. Well actually over the top of the current screen which had the post on it so when I clicked back everything was gone.

Same thing happened when I tried to drag it. Instructions say you can insert it wher you like but it escapes me.

Could someone help out here. I'm having to upload the images for a third time so I'd rather get this right.

Thanks. PM if you like.

this is a test

http://www.ducati.ms/forums/attachme...1&d=1283252398

lets see if this works.....

o.k. Think I have it sorted now.

The rest of the explanation as to how to insert an image into your post goes like this...

Reopen the attatchment manager by clicking the arrow beside the attatchment button (paper clip) you should see the file listed there. Right click on it and copy link then paste the link wherever you want it to appear in your post.

There. Hope this helps someone else.

N.B. I clicked preview to check this and decided I'd add an explanation as to how to perform the rest of the operation.

EDIT... so scrap that. Obviously on publishing the picture remains as an attatchment and the link appears in the position on the page....

Anyone.... anyone???? :-)

Yeah I suppose I can dig that back up. I've only used it once before so will have to find password or whatever. Seems I'm not the only one who's had problems doing this.

I've been reading some of the stuff that comes back in a search. And like you suggested I had a look for stickies. Plus I thought this was posted in the superbikes forum but I see its now with the contact help team.

Surely it would be far easier if the full directions on how to do this were included on the page that supposedly carries instructions on images, smilies, icons etc.

Basically I've written out this whole blurb that I just want to post for the benefit of members. That has taken long enough and I'm ova trying to do this.

Done. I went outside and put the pics up at photobucket.

All I did was copy and paste the image url which photobucket provides complete with the bracketed img bits at each end. Just pasted the link where I wanted the image to appear in the text.

Have posted the Reg Rect upgrage info
