Google
Has the site signed up with "Google Analytics"? Not sure I'm happy about that.
Cheers

I noticed that as my pc is connecting to this site and going between forums within the site it is going through Google Analytics which is a sign up site analizer of some kind. Check the script at bottom left of your window as you log in here, It also makes my computer run like a Ural....slow and like treacle.
Cheers
Derek

THey have gone to the java powered ads recently it would appear. It's all about paying the bills to keep the lights on. Feel free to pony up the dough to remove the ads if you like.

Google Analytics is Google's website usage tracking software (similar to WebTrends). So, the owners of this site can view usage trends, # of visits/day/hour/month, location of visitors (e.g., U.S., Europe, Germany), etc. At the end of the day, it's a great tool.
In case if anyone wants all of the details, the analytics software was created by a company named Urchin.
So, don't worry, Google isn't doing any illegal tracking or finding out what your social security number is.

This was an interesting concept raised a little while ago.. I can't see how this would be either legal or worked.
There was discussion that if you throw down, some of the ads would be removed for 'premium' members.. Unless it's changed a little while ago, the pony up was still to Scott. As Scott is no longer the owner or provider of this site, how can he have your ads removed? Isn't that something Vertical scope should have control of? If you were VS, would you want someone else deciding who should see the ads you are being paid for?
Only a little off topic and I guess you can't answer the thoughts, nor can you confirm the removal of the ads as you say.. I don't think you've paid up yet ( unless, like mine, yours lapsed unnoticed)..
In accordance with the prophecy...

So that's the explanation then?? The site runs so slow on my iMac that it's no longer as much fun as it used to be and I'm not checking all the forums anymore. I spend about the same amount of time on the site and read less than 1/3.

You could easily disable the ads and the analytics on this site by editing a file on your computer.
However, why would you?
The ads support the site and keep the owners of Ducati.ms from having to resort to more intrusive marketing tactics like selling your email address to viagra spammers.
Unfortunately, the ads do slow down page loads. If it is preventing you from using the site, then disabling them might be an option, or you might just write to Ducati.ms and ask them to put some termignoni on their ad server.
