Spider?

I was just perusing the users online list and noticed a few strange guest users and was curious if anyone could shed a little light on what this may be. I saw the following user names "Google Spider", "Gigabot Spider", "YahooFeedSeeker Spider" listed. Are these some sort of information gathering users, ie: from a search engine?

If they were Italian it'd be "Spyder".

We pay to be listed on the search engines.
The various spiders, read through our forums, for "hot" words to link in peoples searchs on their sites.

Like- Ducati 999, Monster mods, SS exhaust.... etc.

I noticed it when we first switched softwrae and asked too.
