Site setting undesired cookies?

I am writing with a concern. I have not been on the board since January 14th, 2010. My browser history doesn't go back that far, and is self-purging in any case. I do not have ducati.ms bookmarked, as I navigate here by memory. I do not remain logged in, as I log out each visit.

Why then do I find that the ducati.ms website continues to set two cookies in my browser? I delete these whenever I discover them, which is several times a day. I emailed support about this but did not hear back.

I would prefer not to cancel my membership/registration for the site, but I consider the setting of these cookies to be an invasion of sorts. I don't mind allowing them when I visit, but when I've been "gone" for a month, I don't want you coming to visit me uninvited.

I would be interested in others' experiences with this and with admin's explanation.

What cookies are being set in your browser? Let me know and I can investigate with our tech team.

Okay, I had to check twice.

I had cleared the cookies before I shut down last night. As soon as I checked after starting back up tonight, the two "uninvited" cookies were there.

I navigated to the site, and discovered that as soon as I did that, the site added nine more cookies. So, I left the site, cleared all eleven, waited a few minutes and the two cookies in question were back. Here is the info:

In case it's important, I'm on an iBook G4, running Mac OSX 10.4.11, browsing with Safari 4.1.3.

Thanks for your help.

Any word? Still getting the two cookies, multiple times each browser session. I checked to see if it was somehow related to my screen saver, and it appears not. As I mentioned, I would certainly be happier if these cookies were not being set when I'm not visiting ducati.ms. Thanks!

Okay, I had not been on the site since 2/24/11. The cookies finally stopped showing up. Don't know if the site stopped, or if it was just because I'd been gone.
