Congrats on a great bike. Your color scheme is quite scare in contrast to the 'normal' red/white/black and looks great. As to your ride report, it is outstanding.
One of the 'joys' of owning a Bimota is trying to figure out what part came from what 'donor' bike when you are trying to replace something. Just because the engine came from the GSXR does not mean a part attached to or related to the function of the engine came from the same company, as you just found out. Kinda like a never ending detective story. For that reason, many of the better Bimota shops have either a source of information back in Italy consisting of those who sold and serviced the older bikes, or have been in the Bimota game long enough to have expericence with the older bikes themselves. In the US, now that Bob Smith the former distributor sold off his stock, the only source I am aware of is Bob Steinbugler at Bimota Spirit, who may have the largest collection of vintage street and racing Bimota extant, and the only current dealer in the US who was also involved with the earlier company.
Enjoy your Bimota, I enjoyed your report and your comments. Dave
