To the Top of Berthoud Pass (Pics and Vid)

Coupla days ago, rode up the south side of 11,307ft. Berthoud Pass, then descended the northside to Winter Park. Temps were in the 30's and 40's (f), and the road base was cold, also sketchy with sand from a recent up high snow. Nevertheless, the booming Bologna product had, and delivered a thriving ride.

The pics are from previous scoots of the pass. On this brisk day, I was just video recording the thing, with a mission to get over the thing and down to temps back in the 40's!

Here's an image of the pass from 1915.

Not exactly standing where the photographer stood 95 years ago, but in the vicinity...

The video includes this portion of the road on the ascent...

If you pause at the pass summit and look south, here is what you ride on the descent to Winter Park. Me thinks Ducati's are quite at home on circuits such as these. Eh? The snowy spine of the Indian Peaks are on the horizon. They also divide the continent, with moisture on this side starting a journey to the Pacific. On the other side... to the Gulf...

OK, for a five minute recording of the ascent/descent, with the Termignoni's delivering the audio soundtrack, combined with Pat Metheny's "Slip Away" accompanying quietly in the background...

Yeah, so no pics of the MTS12 on Berthoud Pass. Hey! Fingertip preservation from the cold was the higher desire! So, a few pics from recent rides...

Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
The reverse side also has a reverse side.

Thanks for posting. I haven't been able to get out for a decent ride in a couple weeks now. My wife finally asked me how many times I was going to watch the video.

I was up through Berthoud back in April it was the middle of some rough weather, and kinda hairy, but the climb out of Winter Park was breathtaking. Nice videos.

Awesome video-your roads are so open over there-reminds me of a trip I took through the Canadian Rockies back in 2002.
The mountain roads we ride are more like this:

Thanks all.

Steve... You can probably relate to that first pic of the MTS.

The question is do I make to to CA before you make it to CO.
