Left this morning around 11. Straight down I77 (obviously the really boring part), across the river into WV, west on some side street to a bridge back into Marietta.
Gas filled, I took Rt7 south to the real reason for my ride - SR555. Rode pretty quickly and somewhere before or after Rosseau I had a few seconds of vertigo!

Strange sensation to say the least. Back off a little and continue on.
555 is closed north of the split with 78 so 78 east it was on into McConnelsville. Continue on 78 and stop at the bucket of
Big Muskie (fing big). Take in the long distance vies for a few minutes then back at it.
83 north at Bristol through New Concord (
John Glenn's 'hometown') to Millersburg. From there east on 39 to Sugarcreek for more gas. I77 is just a bit more east and then north to home. Something more than 350 miles in about 6.5 hours with three stops.
The bike ran great, the weather was perfect (as long as I was moving), and the roads were awesome. I hear some complain about the roads in
SEO. Maybe they make the mistake of riding after a hard rain with the obligatory gravel washout. I've made the same mistake on that road and others. Not the road's fault -

. I saw maybe three small patches of gravel and they were exactly where you'd expect them so no troubles.
My newish Conti Motion tires worked great. I'm still still learning them so still some stips -

.
New
HJC IS-16 helmet is also great though a bit noisier (wind) than my trusty old FM was. Not a huge issue since I usually wear plugs anyway. I'll post a review of it in the gear section sometime.
Sorry, no pics. Last seconde decision to ride and I usually ride lite anyway. Time for another beer to relax my weary body.
