Return to Neah Bay

With temps in the Seattle area hovering in the mid 90's, three of us from my local riding group headed out yesterday to Neah Bay, a repeat of a trip we had made two years ago. Mark Multistrada Hollingsworth met up with us in Port Angeles and led us on some great roads along the Strait of Juan De Fuca (the "u" is pronounced "yew") with a good view of Vancouver Island across the water. Temps were cool along the water but climbed quickly when the road turned inland. It was the first time in a long time I have ridden without my son on the back, and the bike felt like it had gained several horsepower while losing several pounds.

Two of us ventured up the dirt road to the summit of Cape Flattery west of Neah Bay. This is as far west as you can ride a street vehicle in the lower 48 states. It was a rare ride west of the Cascades as we were not appreciably held up by traffic.
