Big Sur accommodation ?
Hi all,
I'm planning a bike trip along the PCH with a few buddies from France and I'm having difficulties finding a hotel/motel/cabin in the Big Sur area on Saturday, Sept 5 and for only one night. No wonder why... (Labor Day weekend)
We need at least 2 rooms with 2 beds in each room.
$75 maximum per person.
Any help appreciated! Thank you.

I'm looking into it through my agent. Might not be in the center of Big Sur due to the weekend. You might have to settle for something within a reasonable distance though.

Unfortunately the lodging in Big Sur is very expensive
and they can charge a premium because of the lack of lodging and the fact that you are going to be there during a holiday weekend. May I suggest that if you cannot find a spot try pushing up to Carmel/Monterey, or stop in San Simeon. A lot cheaper at both and many more lodging choices.

My travel agent left me a message and advised my lodging request got misplaced somehow. I didn't hear anything today, I'm sure I'll have news one way or the other tomorrow (Thursday). Just like Largerthan9 and I suspect, you may have to settle for something outside of Big Sur. We will see.

Well thanks for your help but we have now booked the San Simeon Motel 6. Can't beat the price of that one!
