So i know its not a ducati that my wife and I are riding. but the day was setup by my local ducati dealer that I just happened to buy my hyper from so i figured ill post it here
heres my view as a complete begginer
well i finished my first trackday and absolutely loved it. the R1 really is a beast of a bike to fight around loudon but worth every second and i have no regrets picking the bike in the first place as i find its a very very comfortable bike to ride fast (well fast for me anyways)
so the first picture is my wife (i could keep up with her a few times she is better than alot of guys i ride with) and the second is me
as for the day it was great. we were told we should move up to yellow group after 4 sessions but we didnt due to health issues for us and didnt want to feel pressured to ride fast so instead we just flew by everyone in the slow group and got stuck behind alot of groups but had a blast
next time we are gonna start in red to get the line then move right to yellow to build some skills
we were both told how well we did for our first time and it was even commented that we picked up "the line" faster than most people which means alot seeing as how we are both fairly new to riding on the street (4 years) and all the riding we have done has been street and moderate to ethusiasticly paced.
mostly i was proud how well she was doing and how much her confidence increased just by her running with the fastest of the red group myself included and it really helped to remove alot of her fears of being the slow one whenever we ride with fast groups or even her initial fears of holding other people up on the track which NEVER happened. like i said there were even a few laps that no matter how well i held the line with the R1 she would just pull away in the corners and had the guts to pass without hesitation
awesome day and if you get the chance to run NHIS dont let anyone scare you about the R1 being to big or anything like that. all it takes is consistency and a good (****in very good) understanding of what the throttle does and when and where to apply it. other than that it was an awesome experience and would like to take the newxt step into racing next year depending on the availablity of $$$$$
ok blah blah blah
heres the damn pictures
these are just the pictures up on the owens racing site. hopefully we have our full day discs in the next week or so
feel free to comment on the pictures.
we got most of our experience with the line from following a good friend and didnt get a chance to have our riding critiqued. well aside from all the compliments and the shock from people who didnt expect us to be so fast with the limited amount of seat time we have had over the past 2 seasons due to our accident.
anyways awesome time and we will be doing another hopefully before our surgeries
