PNWRR Ice Cylce Run/2008
This was the fifth year of the PNW Roadriders annual Ice Cycle Run to the Olympic Club in Centralia, WA. on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. The ride got its name from the fog which froze to the fronts of our motorcylces during the first ride in 2004.
This year's Ice Cycle Run started for me on Saturday with an I-5 slab to my parents' house in Vancouver. As I was riding through Fife, I noticed a hand waving to me from the driver's window of a white minivan ahead of me. As I passed the minivan, I turned to see one of our members grinning at me. Sunday at the Olympic Club he told me that he was giving his brother a tour of some motorcycle dealers.
Sunday's ride started out much like the first Ice Cycle Run when I met up with Paul Geller at a Starbucks in Longview under overcast skies. Fortunately it was much warmer than the first Ice Cycle Run. We rode north out of Longview on Hwy. 411 to the junction of Hwy. 506, then we continued north on Military Rd. to Lenz Road. We rode a short distance east on Lenz Rd. to I-5, then continued east on US 12 to Morton. From Morton we rode back west on Hwy. 508 to Centralia-Alpha Rd, which we followed west into Centralia. Paul had close encounters with deer and the WSP, but came out unscathed on both accounts.
We arrived at the Olympic Club about a half hour late to find what I think was the largest turnout yet (26) for an Ice Cycle Run. PNW Ducatistis in attendance included me (ST4s), Paul Geller (Multistrada), Fred (Ministrada), and Mark Turbo, who drove his new jeep as he is still recuperating from the accident in California last September which totaled his Multistrada. Mark says the 1 year plus rebuilding of his ST4s is nearly done.
Afrer lunch I slabbed it back home to the Seattle area through very heavy traffic from Centralia all the way to Tacoma.

Reason: Death to all typos! Unfortunately, I can't edit the title.
