Blue ridge fall ride
Had a nice ride along the parkway. Photos are views from the road between Asheville and Sylva along the Blue Ridge Parkway a few days ago. Very foggy in the early morning but cleared up as the day progressed. Leathers plus a turtleneck and long sleeve sweater was about right for the weather. Rt. 28 north from Rt 74 to where Deal's Gap begins is also nice, but stay away from Deal's Gap 129 itself unless you want to ride VERY SLOWLY behind legions of cruisers. Rt. 28 south between 74 and Franklin is also very good for twisties and the Cherohola Skyway between Robbinsville and Tellico Plains. Western NC is perfect this time of year. The St3s performed flawlessly. All photos are views as you would see it from the road itself except where you see the bike pictured.
PS: Resizing the photos to fit here diminished some of the detail. Not quite sure why.

just returned from a trip down there ( few weeks ago ) The BRP is just one special road. I take that over the dragon and day
One of my motorcycle bucket list items is to ride it from end to end but because of heavy fog we couldn’t do it this year. So next year the wife and I hope to make it down again.

Was out in the Boone area this weekend and the colors from the top of Grandfather Mountain were indescribable. Saw more bikes out there than I've ever seen but 9.9/10 were Harleys. Only saw 1 Duc all weekend (monster on the parkway).

Definitely an admirable pursuit. Hope you can do it. Fall is just amazing there.

In about 750 miles of riding I only saw one Duc, a red MTS with bags on the Cherohola coming the other way. It was hauling good though .

I was on Cherolhala Skyway, Dragon, Rt28 last Friday on my Paul Smart. I was in the area for the week. We stayed in Maggie Valley. We did the BRP on Monday and again on Saturday then headed back last Sunday. I think I'm gonna make this an annual trip. I took tons of pics but I haven't had a chance to move them to my computer yet.

I was on those same roads same day Friday. Stayed in Asheville. Small world. Didn't see you though. Would have noticed a Paul Smart. Nice day for riding Friday.

I actually stayed in Ashevile on Thursday night. We went to a great brew pub/pizza place. Friday was a nice day except for the light rain just after dark betweeen Cherokee and Maggie Valley. There was also that poor guy who crashed his full dress Harley at the end of the Dragon just past the overlook. I felt bad for him. Other than those two things it was a great day. Too bad we missed each other. I only saw one other Ducati all week and that was a Multistrada on the Parkway.
