Some of you may remember the End of Winter Ride back in March of this year.
End of Winter Rider/2008

A riding season has passed and yesterday (9/21) was the annual End of Summer Ride. Last year's EoS got canceled due to a rain storm. No rain storm this year, just rain and a low cloud cover.
Like the EoW Ride, the EoS starts at Castle Rock, WA. and heads east on Hwy. 504 as far as the road is open toward the Johnson Ridge Observatory of Mt. St. Helens. The weather started out overcast with hopes of clearing, but we ran into rain and a cloud cover as we got higher. At times the rain felt like sleet as I was riding. Nineteen bikes from Oregon and Washington left Castle Rock, but only thirteen made it all the way to the Observatory. Although the sun teased us by briefly peeking through the clouds, Mt. St. Helens remained completely socked in by clouds.
Randy the X Man forgot his bike mounted camera, but he could not have gotten very good footage anyway due to the fog.
The assembly point at Castle Rock. That is Randy the X Man holding a cup of coffee in photo #2. This year a majority of the bikes were from Oregon.
