Did not take the direct route. You can relate eh? First wanted to see a small cabin community I had seen signs to but had never made a turn to. This is the Raymond Store. I get a kick out of pausing at these kinds of places, sitting on a bench outside, munching on something I probably shouldn't...

I find the turnoff, climb a few switchbacks, and here's a small stand of aspens making a stand for autumn's presence. A faint half moon shares in the observation...
But one can find aspen gold fleeting in a coniferous forest...
Arrival at a 10,000ft alpine lake. This is just off the road in a parking/hiking area. One finds splashes of deep red and a green crew cut of pines...
Turning slightly the shadows of clouds dance with the forest while tundra shrubs note the season's arrival at this elevation...
Further along where the road ends, the bike almost blends into the scene...
Looking back while departing, the Indian Peaks bid farewell over the ridge, the sun continues its dance, and the aspens are busy changing their clothes. And it is affirmed how special life is...
