Cherohala Skyway
All I have to say is this is the best road I have ever ridden... ever! Last weekend, 3 friends and myself trucked the ducs up to the Smoky Mountains for a ride I will never forget. Forget the Dragons Tail, go to the Cherohala. 36 miles one way full of long sweepers and perfect tarmac. I had my Pirelli Diablo road tires on, which did fine, but the 1098s Tricolore and 848 in the pic both had new dual compound Pirelli Supercorsa's that were amazing. If you ever get a chance to get away in the Southeast, you will not regret this trip.

Well, a good opportunity will be US Desmo duc event Oct 3-5th in Hiawassee
Friday and Saturday lots of riding, lots of ducs, lots of fun, usually about 75 mostly ducs at this event, we'll be riding out of Hiawassee up towards cherohala on some fantastic roads.

It's not a secret.....the road really does suck, though.....as do the other 2000-3000 miles of twisty roads scattered throughout the SouthEast......If you want good roads, go to southern California and leave us to deal with these terrible roads all by ourselves.
Libido - You going to be at DFS, again this year?

No, that's more like Deal's Gap and difficult on a carbed SS (for me). This is the Cherohala
with 3rd + gear sweepers I believe a '92 900SS was designed for.
As for will I be at DFS... oh yea, DesmoDemon, with bells on (not really bells... but that's the best metaphor I could think of after so much bourbon).

First of all, that is one of the best photographs of three beautiful Ducs I have ever seen. Great variety and color.

I know that spot. Great road. Meant for sport bikes. Don't know why the sign says 5377 in my photo and yours 5390 ft. Swear it's the same spot and view, albeit 2 years ago in late fall for me. Maybe the mountain grew?
