40 year class reunion ride
The weekend of 7/25-27 was my 40 year high school class reunion in Lewiston, Idaho. As I did for my 30 and 35 year reunions, I rode my motorcycle from the Seattle area to Lewiston.
Day 1, Thursday 7/24. I wanted to ride over a day early so I could get a ride in Friday morning before the first reunion function Friday night.
Here are some photos I took at the junction of Hwy. 260 & 261 at Sperry, WA. "Sperry" consists of an abandoned grain elevator on an abandoned railroad line. Hwy. 261 between Sperry and the crossing of the Snake River at Lyons Ferry is one of my favorite roads in Washington.

photo #2: looking south up Hwy. 261
photos #3 & #4 : the rest stop at Alpowa Summit on US 12 between Pomeroy and Clarkston, WA.

day 2
Friday 7/25 I rode the Palouse region of eastern Washington near the Idaho border.
photo #1: South face of Kamiak Butte in the background.
photo #2: wheat fields of the Palouse.
photos #3-5: Green Hollow Road north of Colfax, WA. Green Hollow Road is home to one of the worst blind summits I have ever encountered.

day 2 continued
I rode as far north as Marshall, WA. to take some train photos. Marshall is located between Spokane and Cheney. My class always picks the hottest weekend of the year to schedule a reunion as temps were in the low 90's on the Palouse and around 104 in Lewiston as I rode back to Lewiston to make the evening function.
These were the last really interesting photos I took, so I'll stop the ride report here. The rest of the trip was reconnecting with my old classmates.

Those amber waves of grain...
Nice pics Bill. You probably went from 104 down to 54 going back over the pass.

But not this year. I heard from a classmate that it was 118F in Lewiston last weekend.
