Quoting the article: "Perhaps the real, unspoken reason for the road's existence is to be found a mile from the hotel. There, sitting on top of the mountain, is a huge palace belonging to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the current ruler of the Emirates. His face also adorns a huge banner announcing the entrance to the road and it's under his watch that it was constructed. This incredible feat of engineering is actually no more than a giant driveway."
Nice driveway.

HOLY Sheikhs,
Except for the concrete barriers, that would be close to motorcycle road heaven. I would stay in the fast lane though, just in case I lowsided so I'll have some sliding room before impacting the barrier.

Save your money guys.....There are far better roads to be found in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina, with cooler temps and scenic turnouts to boot!!!!! Bottom line, that road could be track smooth but I doubt it's got runoffs, flagmen, mechanics, or umbrella girls , so it's still just a road to ride where you take your chances..... I'll take mid-south any day.

I hear the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia rocks but I have never been there.
Cape Breton’s Cabot Trail is said by many, to be a potential rival for the most beautiful road in North America if not the world. Having read such quotes as:
"I have traveled around the globe. I have seen the Canadian and American Rockies, the Andes, the Alps and the Highlands of Scotland, but for simple beauty, Cape Breton outrivals them all."
Alexander Graham Bell
and,
“. . . having ridden in the French Alps, the Swiss Alps, the Italian Alps, the fiords of Scandinavia as well as the Canadian Rocky Mountains I would say, “the Cabot Trail may or may not be the best road on earth to ride a motorcycle, but it is the best one that I have found . . . none can compare.”

If you are thinking of the "Road of Death" photos floating around the internet, that road is in Bolivia. A member of the South Bay Riders forum rode it on a motorcycle tour of Bolivia. According to her report and photos, a modern highway was built and trucks no longer use the old road. The greatest danger now is colliding with bicyclists who do not bother to read the signs indicating which side of the road to ride on in certain sections.

The Great Ocean Road in Victoria Australia is up there. Driven most of it in a cage, it would be awesome on a bike. 260km of pure pleasure and stunning scenery .

Don't remember the number of the road, but it goes from Rhonda Spain over the coastal range and down to the Med at Torre Molenos (sp?). I did this one on a bike tour in 2002. Tight twists to big sweepers and unbelievable views. My favorite so far.
