Rome to Sicily, Day 7

Crossing Sicily for the first time was not what I expected. Huge mountains yes, but also lush green valleys covered with bright red poppies.



We stopped at a small village with a great overlook. No fresh gelato here but the ice cream was still good.









We stopped at one point to admire the valley below and was told this plant was fennel. It grew wild every where.



And finally Cefalu. The sites in and around this city were stunning.













And in this little shop I managed to find my souvinere for the trip. Wearing it while walking the streets did get some attention. I can't imagine why
