My 996 w/Snowy Background On 1st Ride of '08

We've had a very late Spring up here and it was just Monday that I finally got the 996 out. I'd only planned on riding down Turnagain Arm to Girdwood about 40mi south. The weather was so nice and being a weekday and not yet tourist season, very little traffic that I went another 20mi south to the Portage area.

Had an awesome great day. Sure felt good to get back on the Duc!

Absolutely beautiful. I am glad to see I am not the only person who likes to ride to the snow.

Thanks guys. Glad I got the Duc out when I did as we had a 22" snow dump on Friday! Crazy!

I've been bicycling to and from work daily all winter. Actually haven't driven the cage to work since October. I have a Surly Pugsley with 4" wide tires for the snow and a regular mountain bike with studded tires for when it's icy.

Anyway, here's what it looked like when I got home from work at 9:30pm Fri. I had to walk the bike about 1/4mi as I got closer to home.
