Fall Trip - Smoky Mountains

I think this pic really sums up the trip:

In Attendance:

2002 Ducati 900SS - Me
2004 Ducati MS4R - My husband
1998 Ducati 900SS - David
2004 Aprilia Tuono - Philip
2004 BMW K1200RS - Bill (David's father)
1999 Yamaha Road Star 1600 - Bill (My husbands father)
1965 Austin Healey - Steve

We spent 6 days in Tellico Plains, TN right at the base of the Cherohala Parkway, the Dragon, Blue Ridge Parkway, Foothills Parkway, and a number of other necessary roads in that part of the country.

Thanks for sharing the photos. I love the autumn decorations on some of the buildings. Are you disappointed you did not experience snow like many of us seem to do on autumn trips ;>)

HA! Nope - not disappointed at all.

Working on pulling some video off of the camera right now. Should have it up in the next few weeks.

Cherohala is one of my favorite roads. Where did you stay in Tellico? Tell us more about the accomodations.

Stayed at the KOA at the base of the Cherohola. If you turn down 360 right as you enter the Skyway, there's a KOA there on the left. $40 a night for the cabins during the week, $50 on weekend nights.

It was a horrible place to stay...to get anywhere we had to either ride the Cherohola every morning or ride 68...hahaha

(NOTE: that's not a bad thing at all... )

IF YOU'RE GOING TO STAY THERE, BRING AN AIR MATTRESS!!! The Gumby mattresses they have are literally the WORST I've ever slept on. We even tried doubling up on them and going to the Dollar General and buying an egg crate to sleep on...didn't make much of a difference.

If we had had an air mattress, it would have been great.
