I just got home from my first commute to work on the "new to me" 750. The ride in was pleasant. Weather was in the mid to low 70ºF range and there was only one stretch of about .5 miles that I had to deal with stop and go traffic.
The ride home was another story. It rained. This in and of itself wouldn't be a problem, but here in the fine SE region of NC, people have no clue how to drive in good weather, so you can just imagine how lousy they are in bad weather. Stop and go for over half my 10 mile trip, with speeds rarely in excess of 10mph during the go part. The scariest part is crossing the draw bridge (which happens to be one featured in Steven King's Maximum Overdrive movie). There is steel grate for the middle section of the bridge and this stuff tends to get a little slick when wet. I was planning my escape route the whole way across in the event of a brake check

.
Anyways, my left hand is sore. I haven't been using this clutch hand for a couple years, and it got quite a workout this afternoon. Normally I'd rather ride then drive anyday, but I'm thinking the Buick will get the duty tomorrow.
Thanks for letting me vent,
Matthew
