To give this report some context: I live in Dallas, Tx. Holly lake is 110 miles east of Dallas. East Texas has some great backroads to travel. We have been in a drought for several years but in the last week we have received around 5 inches of rain.
I got up this morning and looked out to see the beginnings of a beautiful day. So with some quick thinking on my part I told my wife "I need to head over to Holly Lake to make sure the storms on Friday didn't damage anything."
She bought it, so I quickly geared up and hit the road.
Well, the day was even better than I expected. Perfect riding weather and little traffic on the east Texas roads. I tore up 276, 514, 2866, 2869, 14, 17, 37, and 515. What a blast. Dodging tortoises trying to play frogger.
I stopped by Lake Fork, Lake Quitman, and Holly Lake before returning to Dallas.
Even saw some Bluebonnets.
