Great pics. If they pave the whole pass that would be a great ride. I lived most of my life in Wasilla and have ridden over the pass many times, the dirt/gravel/solid rock sections don't really lend themselves to sportbikes though.

The other picture brings back some nice memories. That was a great ride up to Hatcher Pass. Wow, that was memorial day weekend last year, it was like 70 degrees that day. It was warmer in Anchorage that day than in Chicago.

It is a great road. One of these days I'll have to get my butt back there and ride it again. Next time I'll do it on my bike, although the 996 is one sweet bike.

Eh, you rode your 996 all the way up to Alaska? If so, I'll never complain again. I think of taking my 916 from Nor Cal to Eureka as a once in a lifetime trip. I say that because I know it will be filled with agony, but since a buddy of mine did it on his 996 I vowed I would do it too. You would probably think my trip plan is like going to the corner store and back. Well, your right, I'm worthless and weak.

BTW, I really enjoyed your trip through the southwest journey. Made my day in an otherwise boring week. LOL. Post your rides up anytime, good reading.

Nice pictures Hogrocket.

I wish. The 996 was borrowed, it's the same bike that's posted by AKDUC, it's his bike. Both pictures were taken the same day, they are from the same ride. I'd like to ride my ST3 up there but I just can't take so much vacation.

As to more ride reports, I'm glad people enjoy them, since I like to write them. And there are plenty more of them on my blog, I ride every weeknd, link to my website is in my signature, link to my blog is on my website
