Ride The Rio with HSTA

Here you go Bill,

Just got back from Fort Davis, Lajitas, Big Bend Texas area and Honda Sport Touring Association's Ride The Rio event. About 60 bikes of all types enjoyed excellent riding conditions and great hospitality at the Hotel Limpia. My RC51 sheared an axle adjuster bolt that could have spelled disaster, but happened at low speed and was eventually repaired roadside thanks to Lee, who has more tools with him than most riders I know...thanks Lee!

Good photos. I am glad your equipment failure didn't spoil your trip.

We ride all year-round.....seems kinda silly to write a "ride report" on things we do on a daily basis.

My wife and I logged about 800-miles about three weekends ago in SC/NC/GA. We were too busy riding to be taking pictures, but we took a few. The roads were pretty clean and not much traffic, but the one upper elevation still has ice on the sides of the road, so we took it easy through there (it was at the top of the mountain on the Richard Russell Scenic Byway north of Helen, GA)...

Biggest drawbacks of that weekend were that on Friday, Vicki toasted the last of the tread on her rear tire, so we had to scamble back to the house, pull the wheel, run to Cycle Gear, and get a tire mounted so we could go riding on Saturday (she wanted to take the R1 and not the GSXR). Then, on Saturday, I picked up a nail in the rear tire of the ST2, and we had to head back home and swap out for the 748. Both times, we were about 70-100 miles from the house.....in northern Georgia, both times. At least we didn't have any issues when we were in northern Georgia, again, two Sundays ago.....we had to make sure bad luck didn't have something to do with northern Georgia.
