Hey Bill, why no ride reports?
Sometimes a sunny day is no guarrantee of a good ride.

Looks like a snowmobile might be in order Bill. They're a blast.
Took a quick ride this morning and nearly froze my conjones off. It was ~32 degrees when I left the house and was ~40 degrees when I got home.
Use to ride back east in those temps all the time and never felt cold. The Valley of the Sun really does thin your blood!

This is probably the second time in the 15 years I have lived here that a snowfall was followed by a cold snap, which has allowed the snow to stay on the ground and streets for several days. Many of the north-south streets get no sunlight this time of year and resemble glaciers as you drive across them.
I am not complaining, as the combination of snow + long winter shadows has a certain beauty which I have missed since leaving the Chicago area in 1991.
I lived in the Valley of the Sun for one year and was very glad to leave. I am a four season guy and I do not take to heat at all.

Nice photos bill , I love the change of seasons too , I have to fly to New Zealand or the snowy Mountains to enjoy that beauty. Down hear in Australia I am doing it tuff with the vented jacket, being high summer.
I had my first ride on my ST4S since I changed the back sprocket to a 42 and I am a very happy ,Pulls much better and smoother , its a big improvement in every gear, Thankyou for the advise and to all the other Mo people. With this mod and the ride hight sorted , the bike just carves up the mountains and I am still grinning under that helmet.

Looking at a map of Australia, I don't think that 38T OEM sprocket would be of much use unless you will be making a lot of trips to Darwin or Perth.

Another day.....
another snow. This is the third real snowfall in the Seattle area this winter. Cold temps have caused the snow to remain on the ground for several days. While this will be laughable to the folks in Denver, the upper Midwest, the Northeast, and Canada, it is unusual for here.
I have lived here since 1991 and this is only the second time we have had snow remain on the ground for several days. The last time was December, 1996. The school year lasts very late here anyway with the kids off for numerous "teacher days". Throw in the makeup snow days and I think my son will be in class until the Fourth of July.

Beautiful. Not nearly enough to snowmobile on with tearing up the sled, but beautiful while it lasts!
Looks like I'm gonna start skiing again!

Boy sure is coming down out there Eh Bill Sorry could not resist, we have had a cold snap, down to -20 C (-4 F), freezing rain, some power outages and not too much snow yet, looks like winter finally got here for us!!!
The only thing keeping me warm is the thought of going to see my new 2006 black sport1000 this weekend in the showroom and work out the details of bringing her home. Stay warm
Cheers

You are right, we are real wimps up here in the PNW west of the Cascades. Check out the post "Crashing in Portland" to see how we handle driving in snow.
