Isle of Man 2006

Bimbled across to the Island for the annual pilgrimage to the TT, this year I also made it across for the Manx GP, my wife must be getting soft...
Anyway, for those of you that havn't been across there it's a small island between England & Ireland and happens to have some great roads, as well as the 37 & 3/4 mile TT circuit !
Just a couple of pics...

There's always guys & girls that will customise a bike like this one - it's a festival atmosphere and each year it gets over 60,000 bikers for a week ! so it's all happening.
The girl who'd made this bike up also wore a cat suit but didn't want her picture taking with the bike ! she was pretty cute though.
So there's stunt shows, custom bike parades, drag racing, motocross, beach racing, bands - too much happening to list really.
Oh yeah and the road racing of course
You should take a trip over with some buddies, you'd enjoy it - guaranteed

Nice job.

Do they still have that free for all where anyone can go whole hog around the circuit? Looks like you had good weather too ... always a crap shoot. I'm jealous.

Even better is that the course is 1 way from Ramsey hairpin all the way over the mountain to Hillberry - an 11 mile 1 way street with no speed limits ! The only issue is that you get all sorts of vehicles going over, care needs to be exercised as you just don't know what's around the next bend...
It's not just 'Mad Sunday' when the Mountain is made 1 way, there are also days during the week when it's 1 way, so all in all you get a good blast knowing there's nothing coming in the other direction !

The rest of the course can be ridden at speed but you have to be really careful as the traffic is 2 way and you can come across tractors, road sweepers, lorries etc...
