My bike just informed me that I MUST find out what road this is. Amalfi Coast, Italy.

and for those who have never seen the amalfi coast:

That is a great road although it gets kinda hairy with all of the traffic. My wife and I rode it last year and it was a lot of fun but the buses and other traffic created some really pucker moments. The good thing about being on a bike though is that you can work your way around traffic.

There is really only one road. It goes through all of the towns along the route: Amalfi, Atrani (where we stayed), Positano. Don't remember if it had a road number or not.

Here are a couple more pics:

This is Atrini (just on the other side of the tunnel from Amalfi)

And on the other side of the hill you should see the road to Positano.

Been there many times, but never on two wheels. . Perhaps when I go in March I will have a chance to ride instead of drive since I'm going alone.

Amalfi coast is very breathtaking IMO.

It almost doesn't matter. You can go to almost any part of Italy or southern France to find spectacular roads like that. Maybe they aren't on the coast, but the winding turns and hills just make most of the roads in the US bland, over-engineered, strips of asphalt. Europe is a blast to ride and when you're tired of riding the food is even better!

Thanks for the photo, I saw a few of the other photos from thier web site. If I ever buy a new Ducati, I may just have to do a factory pickup and spend some time along that coast. that water looks a bit more inviting than the cold stuff off hwy 1 here in northen Calif.

Yeah, Amalfi isn't the best place for a ride, but it's gorgeous nonetheless. Take a bus in, and try to block out all the honking as it manuevers through the hairpins. hehe
