Thanks for bring back the memories Mal. We were there, I was on a Yellow 748 with Black and Yellow Tiger Angel leathers and my husband was on a 998S FE with red, black and silver leathers. I do remember seeing your bike but not sure if we met. We had a wonderful time and rode 6,600kms in total over 17 days (3 rest days). Our bikes did need new tyres by the time we got to Ducati Noosa (but I had rung ahead and ordered them a fortnight beforehand).
I remember the Multistrada's, they were a bit mean to me just near Mt Tamborine, their choice was to be a hood ornament for a large truck, or cut in front of me, since I was behind a car there wasn't a lot of room. I braked so hard but still manged to read their State of Origin on the number plate, the actual rego number was obscured by a sticker - it was very very close. Husband took exception to his wife being treated in such a way and took off after them, caught them and passed them rather closely. They didn't bother us again. Unfortunately it happens every year - we get a hero or two. At least this lot didn't prompt the road block and police harrassment that occurred in 2000.
We will definitely be back for next year. I have done them all (one of the few now that has) Husband missed out on 1999 and regrets it badly.
I am sorry they won't take it back to Tasmania. The two held there were the BEST!
Cheers
PS Racecomp I think you guys were at the next table to us at lunch in Armidale. We looked after your stuff briefly.

Mal,
What an awesome right up! I loved it. I would love to one day be able to go on that, would love to ride my own Ducati but if they have rental Ducati's that will work too. Would love to see everyone's pictures of the event.

I couldn't get the other videos to come up, but you should post this one on the Multistrada forum the next time a newbie asks questions about buying a Multi.

Hey Bill, Can't answer about the Ducati Rentals but I think it was talked about in the Aus section.
748 Girl, I remember a few ladies on yellow superbikes, are you in one of the pics from the Noosa carpark? I might have you mixed up with a real stomper I thought was on a 996. I might have had breakky with you at the servo in Pt Mac before leaving?? Thanks for editing the bit about 2000, I didn't follow it earlier today. Did they say they would not return to Tassie or just not for a few years??
Thanks Primal, you need to get here early, it's a little more difficult getting accomodation as you go..
I sent that write up away to a magazine after being egged into it by my lil bro however I didn't have good photos, I was doing it for my own bad memory, hahaha.
Thanks again and hope to see you at Next Years.
Mal

Maximus-Speedicus, Yes there were several girls on Yellow Hyper Sports. I was not the girl on the Yellow 996, although her Husband does have a 998S FE as well. The difference is that she is petit and blonde and I am about six feet tall and brunette (but slim). We didn't have breaky at Port Macquarie before leaving so it wasn't me - a can of V at Wauchope had to suffice before doing half the Oxley in the wet and then stopping at Gingers for more caffeine.
As for Tasmania, I am sure they will take it back there, but not next year. I suggested that we go back in 2008 and then do the original route - Sydney to Jindabyne for the ten year anniversary. Wally didn't listen to the bit about Tasmania. But we can only hope for a date in the future.
We won't be doing NDR, have to save the cents for IOM TT and WDW next year Although I will be sorry not to go. But we will be doing Turismo I have to keep my attendance record up to speed
See you then.

Wow, what a video.....
but for different reasons, I glad these people are riding in Australia and not around me. Too many crossing yellows in mid corner, braking in corners, and poor passing choices that put other people in danger. Plus for some reason the lead guy just couldn’t hold a steady line in any corner.
maybe a case of I gotta ride over my head cause there's a camera on behind me?
