Identity Crisis! Multi or KLR? :)

After work I ran over to school, took my test to end the quick 6 week class and headed home earlier than normal. The sun was setting, I had my new Conti RoadAttack2 mounted, balanced and sitting in the back of the truck(I got a nail in my old tire and CycleGear's Protection Plan got me a new one). I bolted that sucker to the bike, safety wired, and good to go. I scooted over to some trails that I had seen before... they are actually right in the middle of my city.

There are wooded areas and just sandy sandbox areas. This was on my way in.

Heading a little farther in. This whole section is a bunch of whoops! One right after another, they must be like 10 feet apart for about 100 yards, all through the trees.

After about 300 yards of riding through the trees you come to this opening. Thankfully the recent rains had the sand a bit compacted.

Got through one sand pit, now look what's ahead....

One reason I dislike riding off-road in Florida is this...

I didn't make it more than 15 feet before my new Conti RoadAttack2 displayed its weakness... Sugar Sand! It succumbed faster than a fat kid in a candy store.

Regardless I had a great time for about an hour just playing in my "back-yard."

Ever heard of a knob job? Well it has nothing to do with that.

Hey Missta, how'd you get your bike to stand up like that?

Have a good one.

I think my Conti's must be Mexican because they say "Un poco Espanol!"

New Asian Palace Massage opened close to our office.... All I see in the parking lot are lifted trucks, Mercedes and BMW's... They must give those knob jobs you speak of...

The bike just sank in the sugar sand and stayed put while I snapped a picture.

Well I discovered a new spot real close to home. Not as close as the sandbox, but much better, faster riding. I will post pictures once I get home, this Juvenile Criminal Law class is getting boring today.

A mate just invited me to an adventure ride at the top of the South Island (New Zealand) in mid November.

Hmm, take the 200kg $36,000 MTS1200S Sport and risk dropping it or take my 3 year old KTM690SMC Motard and fit 17" knobblies?

No question; the Duvati is a road bike with off road pretentions; the KTM is an off roader with smaller wheels.

I'll take the KTM. (I knew that extra fuel tank from Safari would come in useful one day. I now have 26 litres on board)
